# ESPN Mapping

> How ESPN platform identifiers map into RFFL registry codes.

ESPN platform values should be normalized before they appear in curated RFFL pages.

## Division Mapping

| ESPN divisionId | RFFL code | Canonical name     |
| --------------- | --------- | ------------------ |
| 0               | AA        | Aggressive Antics  |
| 1               | BB        | Beyond Blacked     |
| 2               | CC        | Combative Chirps   |
| 3               | DD        | Drunkle Debauchery |

## Team Alias Mapping

Use the team alias registry for ESPN export variants such as old short codes, lowercase variants, and placeholder codes.

## Source Boundary

Do not display ESPN IDs as canonical RFFL identifiers. Convert to RFFL codes first, then choose display names by season era.
