# Scheduling

> RFFL schedule policies, Week 1 median handling, and historical schedule context.

Scheduling policy controls regular season week count, playoff week count, Week 1 handling, and standard head-to-head scheduling.

## Schedule Eras

| Years        | Regular season | Playoffs    | Notes                                          |

| 2002-2020    | Weeks 1-13     | Weeks 14-16 | Historical 13-week regular season              |
| 2021-present | Weeks 1-14     | Weeks 15-17 | Current structure after NFL schedule expansion |

## Week 1 Policy

The 2025+ policy uses a Week 1 league median concept. Use the Operations Manual for the exact scoring and data workflow before explaining standings impact.

## Source Boundary

Schedule length affects comparability across seasons. Do not compare cumulative stats across eras without noting whether the season used 13 or 14 regular season weeks.
